Yes I really do run....

Today Steve and I ran in our first race ever. Lauren found this great 5K that takes place in a cave, the Subtropolis. It was the 27th Annual Groundhog Run.

Steve finished with a time of 30:10, placing him in 85th in his age group (there were 132 people in his age group).

Lauren kicked butt, finishing 29th in our age group! Our age group had 188 people in it. I ran the race in 39:05, placing me 163. I'm pretty proud of that considering I had never ran a day in my life until last October. :)
The race was a ton of fun. I am looking forward to running another one...when it's warmer :)
We are thinking the St Patrick's Day run in Lawrence may be next.

Up Do's

Here are a few pics I have collected of hair styles. They are all pretty much the same, back and in a bun of some sort. Some of them have real flowers in them, which I am not going to do.

I like how this one sweeps back on the sides.

I have also decided that I am not going to wear a veil. I tried the below big flower comb in my hair at the bridal shop and I loved it. I think I will be on the look out for something like this or get this one. :) Like everything else though it was pricey. When Ellen saw the price tag she said "What was it blessed by the Pope or something?" HaHa.

The Knot

The Knot and I must have had esp. They just blogged about a custom cake topper too.

This one is by goosegrease. They will custom make them to look like you, dress, suit everything. It is also not quite as much money as the other ones, but also not as cute as the birds. :)

Cake Toppers

I love some of the cake toppers you can find on Esty. Especially these bird ones. If only money grew on trees. hehe

This one by cornflakegirl is my favorite. They custom make them to you specifications...dress type, colors, anything!

This one is by cottonbirddesigns and is also so cute.
This is probably more of the type of cake topper Steve would pick out. It is by buildersstudio and called "robot secret agent". Hehe.

Cake!

I have been researching some bakeries to get our cake from. I got a few recommendations from one of the caterers and some friends. After checking out all of their sites, examples they have posted and their pricing I think we may go with the same bakery Kim and Brian used, Sarah’s CafĂ©. I have been in contact with them and I think we may send in a deposit for them soon and get our date in their books. Next time we are in St Louis we will set up a consultation with them to taste the cake and get a cake planned out. Here are two styles Steve and I like, one is more traditional then the other.
