Tuxes

Steve and I picked out tuxes last week. We decided to go with Men's Warehouse for them. They have stores all over the country, which will make it easy for everyone to get measured. Also, Steve had used them once before for Tom's wedding and he really liked the service he received. The one in Olathe is actually one of the best Men's Warehouse stores in the county we learned. It is ranked in the top 5 or something for rentals. Anyways, here is what we picked out....
For Steve:

His vest is paisley and ivory, with a striped tie. All the men will be wearing the Euro tie, not the bow tie. :)
Right now we have the groomsmen and the fathers wearing the same thing. I am not sure if this is how I want it or not, but it will probably stay this way. It is just easier. :)
Their vests are herringbone and plum, with a solid tie. I wish the tie was different, but its the only option.

Memorial Weekend

This last weekend Steve and I traveled to Houston, TX to spend Memorial weekend with Sarah L. It was a short trip, but really nice and relaxing. We got in Friday night and hung out at her house. Saturday we went downtown to an Astro's game and then out afterwards. Sunday we went shopping and then planned on having a pool party at one of Sarah's friend's house. It decided to rain when we got to the pool. :( It didn't last too long though and we were able to get in after a while. We grilled burgers and sat poolside the rest of the night. It was more relaxing than I think either Steve or I have done in a long time.

Here are a few pictures from our visit...

Let the Crafting Begin!

I now have the supplies I need to get started crafting the paper pom balls for the ceremony. I have gathered them one by one. First I got 40 pieces of the paper I wanted to use and punched flowers out of all 40 pieces. Steve was glad when that step was done. I would punch them out while watching tv with him. hehe. Then I ordered the styrofoam balls and 100 yards of purple ribbon. I will need to go and get more straight pins, but I have enough to start. I am going to just wrap all of the balls with the ribbon first. Then do the flowers. I'm so excited to get started! I have more projects to come, but I think this one is my favorite. I am glad I am going to do this one first. Plus its the only one where I don't have to use Word and I have learned that I am horrible at using Word. I am going to need some Word expertise when I get to the others. :)

Congratulations Katie & Clint!!!

This weekend we went to the wedding of Katie Gleason and Clint Moss. It was a wonderful wedding. Katie looked beautiful! They are so happy and in love. It was great to get to see them become man and wife. :)

It was a gorgeous day Saturday, so between the ceremony and reception we went to a bar(surprise, surprise) and sat around outside.

The reception was a blast! We dance partied all night and then went to Steak'n'Shake for a late night snack.

Just 4 more weeks and we get to do it all again at Lauren and Nick's wedding! I can't wait!

Honeymoon!

Our honeymoon is booked!

We are going to Maui, Hawaii for 6 days and 5 nights. We are staying at the Sheraton Maui Resort. I cannot wait to be on the beach! I ordered a free Visit Maui book today from their website. I can't wait to pick out some really cool things to do. Steve thinks we are going to mountain bike up a volcano. He must not remember the last time we biked on a vacation, it didn't go so well. HaHa.

143 days and we will be here.....

More Adventures In Running...

A few Sunday’s ago Steve and I went to Lawrence for a 5K benefiting the Lawrence Human Society.
Being a dog jog, we of course took Chewie. We met Lauren, Nick and Callie at the race, which went around part of KU campus. It was Nick, Callie and Chewies first 5K event. Nick unfortunately was sidelined due to an injury. We look forward to him joining us in the future though, once he heals up.

Steve and I were unsure of how long Chewie could go in a race, as the most he usually walks is a quarter mile. Callie runs with Lauren often, so she had been training for her 5K debut. See below for a picture I found on RunLawrence of the start of the race. If you look to the left of the picture you can see Steve and Chewie. Steve is wearing an orange shirt. (Its kind of small though)

The beginning of the race was crazy. All of the dogs were so excited and were taking off full speed and then one by one having to stop to use the bathroom. Haha. I thought for sure Chewie wouldn’t get more than a mile and then we would be carrying him. No way! My little dog ran the entire thing! He would sprint his little butt off, then jog some, then sprint again. It was amazing. All 5 of us (Lauren, Callie, Steve, Chewie and I) ran the whole thing together. It was really fun.
Chewie still had a ton of energy after the race when we were all hanging around. Once we got into the car to head back home he crashed. He slept like a baby for the rest of the day. It was so much fun and maybe one of my favorite races we have done so far. Callie and Chewie were amazing. We are so lucky to have such beautiful dogs.
