Valentines Weekend

This year for Valentines Day/Weekend Steve planned a dance lesson for us. We had such a good time. It was a private lesson in ballroom dancing. We learned the basic steps of the waltz, the rumba and the hustle. It was so much fun to do something different and so nice of him to plan it.
After dancing we decided to drive by this pizza place that Steve always tells me I would love, he had eaten there and I had not. Every time we would try to go the place would be closed. They have really random hours, also it is in this very small house. So we drove by and it was actually open!
The pizza was delish, as was the beer we had with it. It was a perfect night.
We continued the celebration the next night with beers at the Saucer (of course) and a fancy dinner at Cafe Trio.
It was a great weekend with my husband trying a new things and getting to check some things off our Kansas City to-do list.

Dogs in the snow...

Yuri loves the snow and is a maniac running all throughout it.

Chewie is not the biggest fan. He would much rather stay inside in the warm house, snuggled up near a blanket on the couch.

Blizzard 2011

The next snow storm we had after we went sledding was actually deemed a blizzard. The news channels went as far as calling it such ridiculous terms as snowpocolypse and snowmagedon. While their broadcasting was over the top, there really was a ton of snow. It was snowing up to 2 inches an hour, roads were shut down and everything was closed. Here are a few pictures of our house once the snow fall had slowed down.

Sledding

A few snowstorms ago(we have had 3 large ones so far this winter) Steve and I decided to go sledding. We picked up two sleds at Ace Hardware, I chose the good old saucer sled and Steve went for the toboggan type sled. Afterwards we bundled up and then we had to find a good hill. This wasn't an easy task. It seems that around Johnson County most of the good sledding hills end at major roads and people still sled on them! I was not up to that. So we drove all around one of our larger parks and finally found the perfect hill. We sled for a good hour or more. It was just as fun as we remember it being when we were kids. :)
